Erickson has proofread, copyedited, and developmentally edited many books,
magazine articles, newsletters, and documents.
Health
Care
Since 1997, Mandy has edited a journal for the American Hospital Association,
H&HN Daily. She copyedits, developmentally edits, or rewrites
the articles, depending on the need. She also copyedits documents for
the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine; proofreads copy for
Kane & Finkel, a health care communications agency; and copyedits
Stanford Medicine magazine.
Higher Education
Besides Stanford Medicine, Mandy has edited a number of Stanford
publications, including Stanford Lawyer, Stanford Social Innovation
Review, alumni websites, and a weekly alumni newsletter.
Business
and Technology
Mandy has worked for Wired, Business 2.0, and MacWorld;
has edited books about running a small business for Entrepreneur Media;
and was the copyeditor for the business pages of The Oakland Tribune.
She has also edited many technology books, including several editions
of Creating Motion Graphics with After Effects.
Other
Mandy edited Muscle Boys: Gay Gym Culture, in which she worked
closely with the author, guiding him in researching and organizing the
book, then developmentally edited and copyedited it before it went to
the publisher. She also copyedited Snafu, a memoir; Urban Tribes,
a portrayal of modern friendship among young adults; Toddler Play by
Gymboree; and the Reader's Digest Simpler Life series.
She
has worked on-site at many San Francisco Bay Area magazines and former
magazines, including Sunset, Industry Standard, Hippocrates,
and San Francisco, and has edited board documents for foundations.
